Summer Safety Tips for Your Visit to Race City PCB

At Race City PCB, we love summer and all the fun activities that come with it! Spending time at the beach and backyard family barbecues are just a few reasons why we can’t get enough of the summer season. Although the heat provides opportunities for people to enjoy the beautiful weather outside, it can also cause issues and potentially dangerous situations if you do not take the right precautions. Make sure your family stays safe in the Panama City sun with these four tips.

Hydrate, Sunscreen, Shade, Repeat

1. Apply sunscreen- The best way to prevent skin cancer as an adult is to start protecting your skin at a young age. Prevent UV (ultraviolet) ray exposure by applying sunscreen before heading outside. Doctors recommend using sunscreen with at least SPF (sun protection factor) 30, preferably higher, at least 30 minutes before heading outside.
2. Make some shade- If you will be out for long periods of time, make sure to bring a hat that protects the face, top of the head, ears, and neck. Not only does a hat provide a decent amount of shade, but it can also prevent sunburns on forgotten areas of the face like the tops of the ears, nose, and scalp.
3. Drink plenty of water- Make sure your family stays hydrated before they go out to play and take frequent breaks to rehydrate while you are out. If you’re child is not a fan of plain water, try putting some fresh fruit slices in their water bottle for a little flavor infusion!
4. Cool off in the water- The best place to cool off in Panama City Beach, Florida is at Race City’s bumper boat attraction!
